Improving the existing EPR institute is aimed at improving the efficiency of its functioning, including the following:
- maximum involvement of waste (Waste from the use of goods) into the economic circulation;
- creation of a system for efficient waste management in order to implement Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated 07.05.2018 No. 204 “On national goals and strategic objectives for the development of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2024”.
The goal of improving the EPR institute is to maximize the return of secondary material resources to economic circulation and reduce the amount of burial of waste.
Tasks to be solved by improving the EPR institute, include:
- Maximum involvement of subjects of regulation in the implementation of the EPR;
- Formation and development of infrastructure for separate accumulation of waste from usage of products;
- Formation and development of the infrastructure of procurement points.
Waste Recycling Association, together with manufacturers and importers (current members of the WRA), develop projects for the formation and development of a system for the separate collection of waste from usage of products.
The purpose of the project is to develop and implement standard options for accumulation points to increase the potential for collecting, accumulating and transporting of secondary raw materials to recycling sites.
The project will be implemented by the organizations that are members of the WRA.
